What is STEM Epic Heroes?
I love the art style and flavor of this game! The gameplay is simple yet strategic. And to get people familiar with STEM elite in a fun way, you can't beat it!
STEM Epic Heroes is a great mix of hand management, set collection, and take-that with just the right amount of educational material snuck in there.
Just received my cards a few days ago and I’ve played it several times now with my family. It is a somewhat complex but definitely fun game to play. Someone playing can’t help but learn something about STEM and something about the historical figures who helped shape it. As a professor of materials science and engineering, I would endorse this for an after school activity for late elementary/middle school and beyond. Also, it is a fun game in general for anyone. The artwork is exceptional as well.
Fun game to play with kids, college students and adults alike. Play takes about 15-30 minutes. The elements like Hero abilities and Inspiration cards set it up for the strategy to match the level of player abilities. Kids can play and get the general concept and learn to apply strategy as they progress. Adults can just as easily employ strategy to a greater degree that ramps up the stakes of the game. The character and location art is world class.
The game should really be applauded for the diversity of Heroes (historical figures from Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). The diversity extends to ethnicity, gender, nationality, etc. Another element of the game is, of course, the balance of characters between well known to mostly unknown (to those outside some of the disciplines, at least.) Sure there are legends such as Galileo, Tesla and Marie Curie but there are others that I had to look up like the incredible and tragic story of Alice Ball.
I'm glad I own it!
